BOFAI

BOFAI’S COMMITMENT TO AFTERCARE SERVICES :Re-entry and Reintegration of persons leaving the correctional facilities.

The Bonafide Advocator Initiative (BOFAI) remains steadfast in its mission to support individuals leaving correctional centers through its “Aftercare Services” program. Launched in 2023, the program began with five minors from the Special Correctional Center for Girls, Idi-Araba providing them with tailored reentry services to ensure their successful reintegration into society and reduce the risk of recidivism.

In August 2024, the Principal of the Special Correctional Center for Girls identified 14 additional minors to benefit from the Aftercare Services, further expanding the program’s reach. BOFAI has been addressing critical gaps in reentry support, offering guidance, resources, mentorship, financial support and empowerment to help these young individuals rebuild their lives.

While the journey comes with challenges such as inability to reach some minors, lack of accountability of the minors etc, BOFAI remains committed to bridging the gap between correctional facilities and society, fostering resilience and empowerment among those it serves. Through Aftercare Services, BOFAI continues to pave the way for a future where every child and young person leaving the correctional center has the tool and support needed to thrive.
