On the 25th of May 2024, The Bonafide Advocator Initiative (BOFAI) held a remarkable event focused on empowering children and young persons who have left correctional homes. The event was graced by the BOFAI team, the beneficiary, the Principal of the Special Correctional Center for Girls, distinguished speakers, and other invited guests. The theme of the program was “Empowerment through Creativity” as the theme focuses on harnessing the creative potential of children and young persons in correctional homes to inspire positive change in their lives and communities.
The beneficiary of this event, who left the special correctional center for girls two years ago, had shown a keen interest and talent in culinary arts. Recognizing her potential and need for support, BOFAI decided to step in. We provided her with several essential cooking utensils, registered her business “Kemzzy Kitchen and Catering Services”, and gave her a token to purchase the necessary foodstuffs to kickstart her culinary venture.
BOFAI’s mission is to ensure that individuals leaving correctional homes are given the necessary support and resources for successful reintegration into society. By empowering these young persons with skills and opportunities, we aim to reduce recidivism and promote a positive and productive future for them.
