At the Bonafide Advocator Initiative, we are committed in giving every Juvenile a chance at restoration with a belief that every child deserves a second chance, whether incarcerated or directly affected by incarceration.
In the light of the above, we are pleased to announce an on-going Partnership between BOFAI and the Hope for Children Left Behind Foundation (HCLB), which is dedicated to addressing the struggles of children affected by incarceration in Nigeria.
We have seen how children whose guardians and parents are taken away from them from being in conflict with the law, are often faced with several challenges ranging from shelter, to welfare, stigmatization by the society and also lack of proper upbringing and modelling which eventually places them in a position where they easily get in conflict with the law too

We seek to address these concerns through offering mentorship, love, welfare support, amongst others, which is why this partnership with HCLB is fundamental at this time.
Through this partnership, we seek to:
- Identify cases of children with incarcerated parents; either already convicted ore lacking legal representation.
- Offer mentorship for these children to provide a link of love and care despite the unavailability of their parents and guardians.
- Offer psychosocial support through counselling and empowerment programs tailored to each child’s need.
- Offer legal representation to the incarcerated parent where we identify the need for such as our ultimate goal is the re-uniting of the family.
The mentorship sessions have begun in earnest as we have qualified counsellors and advocates already in contact with the identified children and engaging them as agreed.
BOFAI remains committed to walking alongside these children- not just in courtrooms, but into classrooms, vocational centers and ultimately till they are reunited with their parent post-release.
