BOFAI: REPORT OF OUR VISIT TO THE OREGUN CORRECTIONAL CENTRE FOR BOYS ON SATURDAY, 26TH OF JUNE, 2021

The Bonafide Advocator Initiative (BOFAI) in collaboration with Omateens Foundation visited the Oregun Correctional Centre for Boys on the 26th or June, 2021.

This was our second visit to the Centre in furtherance of our goal to provide mentoring to the boys and also provide assistance to them after they leave the home.

Despite the heavy downpour, we had the first session with the boys as the Founder of BOFAI, Advocate Oluwatobi Adetona introduced the group and bringing to their remembrance BOFAI’s last visit.

Thereafter, our guest speaker Ebenezer Ajayi addressed the boys on the theme of the day titled “The Future I dream of” and the session was interactive with the boys informing us of their future aspirations.

We also engaged the boys in a talent show anchored by Advocate Seun Tijani where some of the boys exhibited some of their acting and singing skills which ended in a lot of laughter.

Subsequently, Omateens Foundation inspired the boys on the need to remain focused and determined as they aspire to become great in the nearest future. The boys were also enjoined to remain positive-minded because their stay in the correctional centre is but for a moment.

The session was rounded off with a vote of thanks by Advocate Ajike Adetula after which we shared light refreshments to the boys.

Advocate Oluwatobi and Ajike also had deep conversations with the principal on the boys and ways we can render assistance.

The meeting ended around some minutes past 2pm after which the members of BOFAI and Omateens had a photograph session.

Our appreciation goes out to all Advocates and sponsors that made the outreach a success.
