On the 4th of June, 2022, Members of the Bonafide Advocator Initiative paid visits to the Correctional Centre for Senior Boys and Rehabilitation Centre both located at Isheri, Berger Lagos state, Nigeria.
It was a wonderful time with the boys and also the patients at the Rehab center who were men of different ages and being restored from drug abuse.
Our speakers discussed different topics such as “My Life, My Choice” taken by BOFAI’s special adviser (Mr Emmanuel Akpeme). Thereafter, we had a short counseling section by a certified counselor (Funmi Alabi) who encouraged the participants to speak out, so we can adequately render support. Other speakers shared personal experiences to encourage the participants and we were honoured to have with us a boy we met during one of outreaches (Oregun Correctional Centre for Boys) to also encourage them.
The outreach ended with a musical performance, light refreshments, and photographs.
